Candy Crush!

Although I have received and rejected countless invitations to play Candy Crush Saga on Facebook, this one is irresistible! And, I promise you it's slightly different too. The one which I have a crush on, lately!
I went to the Gulaab no Golo the other day. In Ahmedabad, it is a crazy sight to watch how people flock to these candy crushers and popsicle sellers to beat the heat. As soon as we reached, we encountered a common problem, that of parking. While we were straining our necks to find a suitable place, a security guard whistled and signed to move ahead to a vacant space. We did. Gulab no golo,  a small lari serves ice dish of or golas of flavours you might have heard, but never had a chance to relish. As soon as we disembarked the car we saw 20 odd people standing in the queue alone... the crowd standing around the lari and already having their share of gola was of atleast of 75 to 80 people. I lost patience seeing the crowd. My little one was scandalised with all the honking and traffic jam around. I was just going to tell Mr. Husband to return, just when I saw trays to colourful syrups nicely arranged on the lari, and got tempted. We stood in a queue, patiently waiting for our turn, and utterly confused as to which flavour to opt for. There was a board hanging there with over 30 flavours and types of golas. Just then I saw someone else’s colourful ice dish and I signalled Mr. Husband to order that. It was the Mixed Fruit Gola. Before my turn, there were atleast three people who had ordered the Mixed Fruit gola. So, it was confirmed that that gola was a hit, and wont be a disaster.  Me too, like a kid, wanted what they were having. So be it! Haan madam tamne kayo? The man asked. Mixed Fruit, I proudly quipped. The man, went around the lari adding all sorts of colourful syrups topped with natural fruit! He was so swift and speedy that the final product landed in our hands almost flying. Ketla (how much?) I asked... Only Rs100, he replied. Ah! Gone are the days when we would relish stick golas for just 5 or 10 bucks and ice dish, that too, garnished with dry fruits cost just 30 bucks, I thought to myself. We swarmed through the queue and crowd to find a suitable place to enjoy our ‘mixed fruit gola’. First bite, and there was a huge burst of various flavours in the mouth – sweet, sour, tangy, bittery, salty! Along with the flavours came real, natural fruits – raw mango, ripe mango, dry dates, falsa, cherries, berries  - it contained a whole orchard!...  Among all the golas available in the market, in myriad colours, shapes and tastes – sweet, sour and tangy, this one, I bet, is a blockbuster!

We returned home happy and content, with a twinkle in our eyes and rainbow in our hearts... err... stomach!
